ALCOHOL ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY

HERPTIVARIUS, LLC MAINTAINS AN ABSOLUTE AND UNIVERSAL ZERO-TOLERANCE STANDARD REGARDING ALCOHOL IN ANY WORKPLACE, WORK-RELATED ENVIRONMENT, COMPANY VEHICLE, OPERATIONAL AREA, OR COMPANY-AFFILIATED EVENT, THIS POLICY APPLIES TO ALL INDIVIDUALS INCLUDING EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, CUSTOMERS, VENDORS, VISITORS, AND ANY PERSON PRESENT ON COMPANY PROPERTY OR ENGAGED IN DUTIES OR ACTIVITIES ON BEHALF OF HERPTIVARIUS, LLC.
1. UNIVERSAL ZERO-TOLERANCE STANDARD
HERPTIVARIUS, LLC ENFORCES A STRICT AND NON-NEGOTIABLE ZERO-TOLERANCE RULE FOR ALCOHOL, NO PERSON MAY REPORT TO DUTY, BE ON DUTY, PERFORM ANY TASK, ENTER OR REMAIN IN RESTRICTED OPERATIONAL AREAS, BE PRESENT IN A COMPANY-OWNED, LEASED, DISPATCHED, OR DESIGNATED VEHICLE, OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY COMPANY-AFFILIATED EVENT WITH ANY DETECTABLE LEVEL OF ALCOHOL, ANY MEASURABLE INDICATION OF CONSUMPTION, OR ANY OBSERVABLE SIGNS OF IMPAIRMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS APPLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INCLUDING OFF-THE-CLOCK PRESENCE, AFTER-HOURS ACTIVITY, PERSONAL TIME, SPECIAL EVENTS, OR CUSTOMER INTERACTION.
2. SAFETY-SENSITIVE AND UNIVERSAL COVERAGE
THIS POLICY APPLIES TO ALL PERSONS INCLUDING EMPLOYEES, TEMPORARY WORKERS, CONTRACTORS, SUBCONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS, INTERNS, VENDORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, DELIVERY PERSONNEL, CUSTOMERS, CLIENTS, GUESTS, AND ANY PERSON ENTERING RESTRICTED AREAS OR COMPANY VEHICLES, ALL COMPANY PROPERTY AND ALL COMPANY VEHICLES ARE ALCOHOL-FREE ZONES AT ALL TIMES.
3. COMPANY VEHICLE PROHIBITION
ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED INSIDE ANY COMPANY VEHICLE, DURING DRIVING, LOADING, UNLOADING, ANIMAL TRANSPORT, OR TRAVEL BETWEEN JOB SITES, ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE OPERATING OR ACCESSING COMPANY VEHICLES, THIS RESTRICTION APPLIES TO BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS REGARDLESS OF EMPLOYMENT STATUS, NO PERSON MAY POSSESS, CONSUME, OR TRANSPORT ALCOHOL IN A COMPANY VEHICLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
4. TESTING AUTHORITY (RANDOM, POST-INCIDENT, AND DISCRETIONARY)
HERPTIVARIUS, LLC RESERVES FULL AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE ALCOHOL OR DRUG TESTING UNDER REASONABLE SUSPICION CONDITIONS, POST-INCIDENT OR POST-ACCIDENT CIRCUMSTANCES, RETURN-TO-DUTY EVALUATION, FOLLOW-UP CONDITIONS, AND AT RANDOMIZED INTERVALS AT THE COMPANY’S SOLE DISCRETION, RANDOM TESTING MAY INCLUDE BREATH TESTING, BLOOD ALCOHOL TESTING, AND STANDARD MULTI-PANEL DRUG SCREENING, EMPLOYEES SELECTED FOR RANDOM TESTING MUST COMPLY IMMEDIATELY, REFUSAL TO TEST IS TREATED AS A POSITIVE RESULT AND CONSTITUTES A POLICY VIOLATION.
5. DISCIPLINARY ACTION AND ENFORCEMENT
VIOLATIONS OF THIS POLICY MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PREMISES, TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT OR CONTRACT, PERMANENT PROHIBITION FROM PERFORMING WORK FOR THE COMPANY, REVOCATION OF CUSTOMER OR VENDOR ACCESS, AND NOTIFICATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT WHEN WARRANTED, HERPTIVARIUS, LLC RETAINS SOLE DISCRETION IN DETERMINING VIOLATIONS AND ISSUING CORRECTIVE ACTION.
6. FIREARMS AND CARRY RESTRICTION
NO PERSON MAY POSSESS, CARRY, TRANSPORT, OR ACCESS ANY FIREARM ON COMPANY PREMISES OR WITHIN COMPANY VEHICLES WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR WHEN SUSPECTED OF BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, THIS APPLIES TO ALL EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, CUSTOMERS, AND VISITORS.
7. PURPOSE AND SAFETY RATIONALE
THIS POLICY EXISTS TO ENSURE PUBLIC SAFETY, EMPLOYEE AND CUSTOMER PROTECTION, ANIMAL WELFARE, OPERATIONAL INTEGRITY, VEHICLE AND FACILITY SAFETY, AND COMPLIANCE WITH ALL RELEVANT REGULATIONS, ALCOHOL IMPAIRMENT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH SAFE ANIMAL HANDLING AND SAFE WORKPLACE OPERATIONS.
